Position Title: Program Manager, Digital Health KC

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer, Digital Health KC

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

Compensation Range: $80,000 – $90,000, based on experience

Summary:

Digital Health KC is seeking a collaborative manager to formalize the digital health cluster in the Kansas City region and advance the strategic priorities to establish the KC region as a top 3 place to start, grow, and retain a digital health business.

Nature and Scope:

BioNexus KC announced the creation of Digital Health KC in March 2023 to advance the KC region’s digital health cluster. Digital Health KC will spur the industry’s growth, increase collaboration among area digital health organizations, and leverage regional strengths into a vibrant digital ecosystem through coordination and communication of regional assets, partnerships, and investments. The organization’s primary purpose will be to spur the industry’s growth through the promotion of startup formation and commercialization along with supporting the growth of existing digital health companies. The organization will focus on all aspects of ecosystem success including economic development, workforce development, technology and data collaboration, and policy. Diversity will be critical to the success of Digital Health KC and will be woven throughout all its work. Digital Health KC is now seeking a highly qualified professional to serve as Program Manager, a new position reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

The Digital Health KC Program Manager will oversee all initiative aspects, from planning and execution to reporting and evaluating the organization’s progress. The Program Manager will be a key leader helping to advance the organization’s mission to 1) Create ideal conditions for a vibrant ecosystem 2) Catalyze collaboration in Digital Health and 3) Connect the region’s ideas, talent, companies, capital, and customers.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Work with the CEO and the Advisory Board to formalize and develop the Digital Health ecosystem in KC, including strategic planning and implementation.
  • Develop and manage Digital Health KC timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring all project activities are completed on time and within budget.
  • Manage and coordinate Digital Health KC team members, including partner organizations, external consultants, organizational committees, and volunteers.
  • Prepare regular reports on Digital Health KC progress and communicate project updates to key stakeholders, including BioNexus KC and its Board of Directors.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key partners in the digital health ecosystem, including digital health companies, health systems, investors, payers, professional services and adjacent industries, and research and university organizations.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Digital Health KC and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Stay current with trends and developments in healthcare and within the digital health ecosystem.

Specific Unique Accountabilities:

  • Assist the CEO in building out the organizational infrastructure for project management, customer relationship management, and Digital Health KC events and programs.
  • Collaborate with BioNexus KC stakeholders, partners, and other key life science institutions in the region, including vendors related to digital health projects.
  • Work collaboratively to develop & implement a strategy for sustainability & expansion of the digital health ecosystem including business development and grant writing.

Job Requirements:

  • Unique professional experience and/or a bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as business, life sciences, or a healthcare-related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in project management or program management, and experience in implementing project management systems preferred. Robust experience working with Notion, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and/or Canva desirable.
  • Working knowledge of the healthcare industry and experience working with healthcare organizations and healthcare leaders preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience establishing timelines and expectations in an agile, lean work environment.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Ability to work in-person and virtually (limited hybrid work available).
  • This position may require travel within Kansas and Missouri regions and annually to industry conferences nationwide.
