Register Here

When: Tuesday, October 27, 2026
Time: 3:00 – 6:00 pm
Where: To be announced

Sponsored by: Fifth Third Bank

The Digital Health KC Company Showcase brings together digital health companies that have received funding through UMKC Tech Venture Studio. Digital Health KC is hosting the afternoon in partnership with Tech Venture Studio, which funds proof-of-concept work for early-stage tech companies in the Kansas City region and supports founders with mentoring and introductions. These companies are building in our backyard, and the showcase is a chance to see their work up close and talk with the teams behind it.

Agenda
3:00 – 4:00 pm: Arrival, networking and 1:1 meetings
4:00 – 4:15 pm: Welcome from UMKC Tech Venture Studio and Digital Health KC, with opening remarks from Fifth Third Bank
4:15 – 4:45 pm: Company introductions and pitches, five minutes per company
4:45 – 5:25 pm: Four rounds of 10-minute table conversations with the presenting companies
5:25 – 6:00 pm: Networking and closing

Presenting Companies

  • Jana Health (Michael Coggins, co-founder): Jana works alongside a skilled nursing facility’s existing EHR. It keeps daily care and documentation in line with MDS requirements, so facilities are reimbursed accurately for the care they already provide.
  • Myndset (Craig Mason, co-founder and CEO): Myndset is an app that uses AI coaching to build mental strength. It helps athletes and other high performers stay steady and perform when the pressure is highest.
  • Guardian Alpha (Chuck Schneider, co-founder): Guardian Alpha’s app works with wearables such as the Apple Watch to monitor vital signs and catch changes from a person’s normal baseline. When something changes, it alerts the user and the family members or caregivers in their circle so they can act before it becomes an emergency.
  • Rumio (Phillip Ko): Rumio is an AI tool for parents of autistic children. It builds visual schedules from the child’s own photos and routines, and turns a parent’s spoken updates into organized reports to share with school and therapy teams.
  • VUEMENS (Piyush Bhanu)
  • VOISS (Paul Epp, co-founder and CEO): VOISS is an extended reality platform developed in the University of Kansas special education department. Students ages 8 to 18 use it to learn and practice social and communication skills on iPads, Chromebooks or Meta headsets.

If you’re building in digital health, come talk with founders who have already been through Tech Venture Studio’s funding process, meet the team that runs it, and see what other early-stage Kansas City companies are working on.
